Psalms 147

He Heals the Brokenhearted

a Praise the  Lord!
For b it is good to sing praises to our God;
for c it is pleasant,
Or  for he is beautiful
and e a song of praise is fitting.
The  Lord f builds up Jerusalem;
he g gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals h the brokenhearted
and i binds up their wounds.
He j determines the number of the stars;
he k gives to all of them their names.
l Great is our Lord, and m abundant in power;
n his understanding is beyond measure.
The  Lord o lifts up the humble;
Or afflicted

he casts the wicked to the ground.
q Sing to the  Lord with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God on r the lyre!
He covers the heavens with clouds;
he prepares s rain for the earth;
he makes t grass grow on the hills.
He u gives to the beasts their food,
and to v the young ravens that cry.
10 His delight is not in w the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
11 but the  Lord x takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who y hope in his steadfast love.
12  Praise the  Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he strengthens z the bars of your gates;
he blesses your children within you.
14 He aa makes peace in your borders;
he ab fills you with the ac finest of the wheat.
15 He ad sends out his command to the earth;
his word runs swiftly.
16 He gives ae snow like wool;
he scatters af frost like ashes.
17 He hurls down his crystals of ag ice like crumbs;
who can stand before his ah cold?
18 He ai sends out his word, and melts them;
he makes his wind blow and the waters flow.
19 He declares his word to Jacob,
his aj statutes and rules
Or  and just decrees
to Israel.
20 He al has not dealt thus with any other nation;
they do not know his rules.
Or  his just decrees

an Praise the  Lord!
